In this review, we will talk about a manufacturer that really understands firearms and how to properly train with them. The thing is that Triumph Systems CEO Jared Ogden is a former serviceman of the US Navy, awarded many honorary awards, who finished his service in 2012. A few years after finishing his service, in 2015, Navy SEAL Jared Ogden headed the Triumph Systems company, which is located in the very center of America, in the city of St. Louis, Missouri, where he is closely involved in the production of equipment for shooting training. The company produces various types of targets and multifunctional target installations for shooting with live ammunition. Naturally, the manufacturer pays great attention to training systems for training law enforcement officers. But in our review we will touch upon the Brass Laser Training System, designed for training in shooting without the use of ammunition, and most importantly, it is available to almost every owner or potential owner of a firearm.

Equipment

Let's start reviewing the standard Brass Laser Training System package with its main element - the software, or to be more precise, the Brass app. It is available for free download on both iOS and Android devices, respectively, it can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. The Brass App allows you to get real-time feedback on each shot you make, as well as conduct an analysis. A large number of variables are subject to analytical analysis, such as your accuracy or reaction time. Using the app, you can design your own training, setting all the necessary variables, such as the distance to the target or the time limits given for completing the exercise. In addition, you can use any exercise from the Brass Laser Training System library that suits your needs, or resort to training courses specially developed by shooting experts.

The next component of the shooting simulator from Triumph Systems is a laser bullet, unfortunately, only 9 mm caliber so far. But from experience, we can assume that you can use any other laser bullet that you have and that matches the caliber of your firearm. Another element included in the simulator kit is a durable telescopic stand for a smartphone, which can be extended to a height of more than one meter, that is, it can act as both a regular stand and a stable tripod. The final elements of the system are dry shooting targets, there are 5 of them in the standard kit, but you can see the full range in the manufacturer's store and purchase them if necessary.

How does this work

The operating principle of such training systems is already well known to us, from such simulators as Strikeman, iTarget or iShooter. After installing the application on your mobile device, you need to select one of the available training modes, as well as choose the exercise that suits you. Then fix a suitable target in a convenient place for you and install your mobile phone using a stand opposite the target so that the rear camera is directed at your target. The next thing you need to do is install a cartridge in the weapon instead of a live bullet and, after that, you can start training. It should be noted that such a shot is completely safe for the trigger mechanism of a firearm, since the striker hits the back of the laser cartridge, made of a special material. At the moment of simulating a shot, the laser cartridge will project a light spot at the point of impact on the target, which will be recorded in real time by the mobile phone camera and transmitted to the Brass application, where a full in-depth analysis of the shot will take place.

Interacting with our virtual shooting range

Like other shooting simulators, the Brass Laser Training System works by using the laser light at the moment of shot imitation and feedback from the target environment, which makes it possible to conduct training with our software. After practicing basic exercises with the Brass Laser Training System, you can diversify shooting training with our virtual shooting range, using programs such as Pro Target Constructor or Pro Tactical Constructor, which will allow you to conduct training in a dynamic virtual target environment. Using various training systems will have a positive effect on your level of shooting training, as well as firearms control in general.
